Rockstar reveals new details about Jason and Lucia: casual encounters, robberies and unexpected interactions at GTA 6

An exclusive interview with Rob Nelson, Head of Development and Co-Studio Head of Rockstar North, unveiled further insights into Grand Theft Auto VI. The encounter with man in the dumpster is one of the most curious elements emerged: Lucia can choose to offer him pills or ignore him, but a return from him allows to receive a legal advice. Nelson confirms that the player can even enter the dumpster with the man. A particularly unexpected episode occurs during exploration: Jason spontaneously suggests stealing a car in front of a police warehouse, pushing Nelson to change the demo program. The developer emphasizes that this idea was born from a real conversation between the team members, highlighting how the protagonists can influence the player's actions in the game world. The interactions between Jason and Lucia are dynamic: the player can move from one to another during a trip, letting the other continue autonomously, or stay passenger listening to conversations. The Ryde Me service also offers the possibility of rapid travel with social interactions. Rockstar paid particular attention to their relationship, avoiding stereotypical representations of intimacy and experimenting with different solutions to ensure credibility. The goal is that Jason and Lucia are realistic characters, even for those who want to deepen their relationship. To create authentic dialogues, Nelson and his team created in Los Angeles a group of experts – writers, directors and producers – studying human behavior through the observation of daily conversations. The NPCs will not ignore the player if he approaches, and their interactions will be varied and credible.
