GTA VI: Released at 19 November 2026 – New Discoveries on the Sound Column and the Environments

Grand Theft Auto VI, the highly anticipated new chapter of the Rockstar saga, known as GTA VI, is an open world adventure game in development at Rockstar Games, which will also curate its publication. This is the eighth main chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series and the following of Grand Theft Auto V (2013), set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida. The story follows the criminal duo formed by Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos; the game world includes Vice City, inspired by Miami, and offers a free and dynamic exploration. [1] According to Take-Two Interactive, the main production began in 2020, following the success of Red Dead Redemption II. After years of speculation, Rockstar officially confirmed the development of the game in February 2022, marked by a series of leaks of news culminated in the presentation of the first trailer in December 2023 and the second trailer on May 6, 2025[9] and the Grand Theft Auto VI presentation: An Extended Look on 27 August 2026.[10] The release, originally planned for 2025, was postponed until 26 May 2026[11] and then on 19 November 2026.[12] The game will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.[1] The plot sees Jason Duval, a former military who worked for local drug traffickers in Leonida Keys, and Lucia Caminos, the first non-optional female protagonist of the series[N 1], who had been imprisoned in Leonida Penitentiary for fighting in defense of his family.[2][18] Involved in a failed blow, the two face a criminal conspiracy extended to all Leonida and are forced to cooperate. In addition, the game explores the American culture of the 2020s through settings such as Vice City, already present in Grand Theft Auto (1997) and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), and the areas of Grassrivers, modeled on Everglades, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. The project includes a satirical analysis of social media, celebrity culture and technologies employed by law enforcement, such as body cams. The official soundtrack will be available from 11 December 2026.
