GTA VI: Manage Expectation and Mental Health – An Appeal to Awareness

The most widespread expression “It’s okay if everything goes wrong” is more true than ever, and it’s an important reminder for all of us. Encouraging someone to "set up" and "be brave" is one of the worst things they can say. Instead, regularly inquire with loved ones – brothers, friends or partners – and ask them if they are well is the best approach. Everyone faces challenges, but you will never fully understand how difficult it is to fight someone until they feel comfortable talking about it. This space is to share how you feel. If you had a difficult day, feel free to express it. If the anxiety is overwhelming you, talk about it. From personal experience, the worst you can do is keep it all in. I firmly believe that health and fitness are fundamental to maintain good mental health and a positive attitude. So, if you went to the gym, you did a bike ride, swimming or any other exercise that makes you proud, share it! I noticed that waiting for GTA VI is affecting some of us, seriously affecting our mood and, as some people call it, absorbing us so much to make us look crazy. Sometimes it is essential to take a step back, take a moment or two to catch a breath, because each of us can stay trapped in a routine when we least expect it. This can lead to bad coping mechanisms such as eating too much or neglecting us, resulting in bad mental health. Although it is easy to tell the person to "go out on a tour", I personally find that this expression is paternalistic, insensitive and potentially harmful, because it could have a negative impact on someone's mental state and lead it in a dark direction. I am passionate about this topic and I see a growing interest in promoting mental health at work. It is even more crucial to address it in a game forum, since individuals here can sometimes feel disconnected from the outside world, absorbed in their own thoughts and struggling. Feeling isolated is really terrible, so we support positive mental health together!
