GTA VI: No Physical Edition, Only Printed Code – Rockstar's Definitive Decision

Rockstar has officially denied the rumors about a physical version of GTA VI with special edition disc. As reported by TecnoAndroid, the new iteration of the franchise will not have an edition on traditional physical support. Retail shelves will be occupied exclusively by boxes containing only one code printed to redeem. This decision, which seems to surprise many enthusiasts accustomed to the purchase of physical copies and to the market of the use, was confirmed also by major retailers, some of which decided not to sell the physical version of the game. Despite the rumors of a potential release of a disk edition after the launch, Rockstar categorically denied the existence of any plan in that sense. The printed code will be the only way to access the game, replicating the experience of digital purchase but through a paper packaging. This choice falls within the general trend of the gaming industry towards the digital and seems not to leave room for a possible change of strategy by Rockstar. The implications for collectors and the market for use are significant: the redeemed code loses value, making physical copy unusable in terms of resale or loan, radically changing market dynamics compared to initial expectations. Despite fan speculations and hopes, Rockstar's position is clear and definitive: GTA VI will only be available in digital version.
