GTA VI: Download Size Stimulated at 212 GB – Here's What You Need to Prepare

According to new information, the installation of Grand Theft Auto VI will require a considerable amount of space. The initial estimates ranged between 150 and 200 GB, but recent data leaked from PlayStationSize indicate a minimum requirement of 210 GB for the PS5 version. To have enough space, Rockstar Games recommends that you devote at least 250 GB of your hard drive or SSD – we recommend using a M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 card on PS5 or an Xbox Series S/X Storage Expansion Card to ensure optimal performance. The download size is similar to that of GTA V, which occupies about 87 GB on PS5 and 94 GB on Xbox Series X/S. A similar increase is therefore expected, but the exact size still remains to be confirmed officially. It is important to note that the previous estimates of 677 GB and 750 GB were denied. The issue of available space is particularly relevant for smaller console owners such as Series S, where the download will be estimated to be less than 30% compared to Series X thanks to the management of graphic resources. We recommend a careful evaluation of disk space, especially for those who already own a heavy gaming library on their 825 GB PS5. We remember that GTA VI will be installed both from the console's internal drive (PS5) and through a custom M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD, or from the internal disk or from a Storage Expansion Card on Xbox Series S/X. Using a simple USB drive is not recommended for installation and play.
