Rockstar Games will broadcast an extensive preview of gameplay for GTA VI on Netflix on August 27, 2026 at 21:00 Italian time. The event, called “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”, represents a significant innovation in the company's marketing strategy. This is a new chapter of the series, which will be seen first exclusively on Netflix and later on the official Rockstar Games channels. The announcement rekindles the expectation for GTA 6, with the scheduled release date for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series XS. The extended trailer will offer fans a first look on the new game mechanics and history that will involve Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, as well as introduce new characters such as Cal Hampton, Raul Bautista, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Brian Heder. The event will also be available on YouTube and on Rockstar Games’ social channels, with the possibility to follow its updates on platforms such as x.com and reddit. Considerando il fatto che l’anteprima sarà “An Extended Look” e non solo un semplice trailer, mi convince poco la strategia di concentrarsi esclusivamente su Netflix. Rockstar ha sempre puntato sull’ampiezza del pubblico GTA, e questo debutto in streaming – anche se con un'esclusiva temporale – potrebbe risultare eccessivamente restrittivo. Il lancio su YouTube e i social, come indicato, è sicuramente un buon punto di partenza, ma il fatto che l’evento sia esclusivo per Netflix, almeno inizialmente, solleva interrogativi sul tipo di contenuti che verranno mostrati: la compagnia potrebbe voler creare una sorta di "hype" focalizzato su questo singolo canale, limitando la presentazione a elementi specifici per generare interesse. Mi aspetto un focus marcato sull’ambientazione di Port Gellhorn e Grassrivers, visto il loro impatto visivo nell'immagine promozionale finora diffusa, considerando anche che la storia sembra ruotare attorno a Jason Duval e Lucia Caminos. Vedremo se ci saranno riferimenti a detagli del passato di Leonida e dei suoi affari legati ad Ambrosia; l’introduzione di Raul Bautista potrebbe essere collegata alla presenza criminale nell'area. Resta da capire quanto tempo durerà questa esclusiva: un mese? Due? Se il lancio su altri canali dovesse avvenire prima, si tratterebbe probabilmente di una versione tronata per puntare sull’attenzione creata dal debutto su Netflix.
