A leak suggests that the GTA VI release date for PC could be anticipated due to the upward trend of PS5 console prices. Although Rockstar has released only the preorders for Xbox and PS5, it is feared that the high demand for the PC version can induce the studio to prioritize it. According to Andy Robinson of Video Games Chronicle, the increase in console costs, linked to stock shortages of storage and memory, could lead to an early launch of the PC version. The timing seems to be inspired by Rockstar's past launches: GTA 5 was released on PC about 19 months after console versions, while Red Dead Redemption 2 met audience expectations in a year. Following a similar timeline, the release date of the GTA VI PC version could be between the end of 2027 and 2028. The main challenge lies in optimizing graphics for a broad spectrum of hardware configurations, including potential devices such as the Switch 2. A former producer, John Ricchio, pointed out that Rockstar's generous investments can be limited by insufficient resources. The need to meet the expectations of players on different platforms, from the high power of the PS5 to the greater flexibility of the PC and perhaps even future consoles like the Switch 2, is a key factor for the success of the launch.
