GTA VI Preorders: DFC Intelligence prediction targets a billion dollars

More than 1 billion dollars could come from Grand Theft Auto VI. The forecast developed by DFC Intelligence, based on the estimated cost of production of the game, quantifies bookings at a similar value. However, it is an estimate, since Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not yet released official revenue data from reservations or detailed development budget. The preorders began on 25 June 2026, with two editions proposed at 79.99 and 99.99 dollars. These prices provide a concrete reference for the projection, but do not allow to determine the exact number of copies booked. DFC Intelligence predicted the entire period prior to launch, without official data to compare it to. The research company estimates total revenues for approximately 3.2 billion dollars in the first twelve months, including game sales and subsequent monetization. This figure includes a hypothesis of about 40 million copies sold in the same timeframe. The launch of GTA VI is scheduled for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These estimates cover the phase that will start from the publication and continue for the next twelve months, while the prediction on the preorders concerns the bookings accumulated before the exit. At the moment there are no official results for the pre-sales campaign. The comparison with costs requires caution. Industry evaluations generally place production between 1 and 1.5 billion dollars; the higher figures circulated online remain without confirmation. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not published a breakdown that allows to distinguish development, promotion and other items of expenditure. The expected billion for preorders would represent a gross revenue, not the net sum destined for the publisher. Commissions applied by platforms, taxes and other costs in fact reduce the amount actually cashed. The possibility that bookings cover the budget is therefore a read based on estimates: official data on revenues and costs will be needed to verify it.
