Jason Schreier Forgets GTA VI 90% Progress Information

In recent days, news spread that journalist Bloomberg, Jason Schreier, said that Grand Theft Auto VI was 90% of the completion. This statement does not correspond to reality. Schreier has never issued such statements. The number in question is real, however: what has actually said, in the first seconds of this video, is that it declares with about 90% certainty that the game will respect the date of release scheduled for November 19 without any further delay. This is not the first time that Schreier is misunderstood on this subject. In January, in a podcast, he mentioned that the last update on the state of the next Grand Theft Auto was still incomplete, that is, the team was still finishing the missions and deciding what to include. He had to immediately correct the situation, underlining that his position was that he would not be surprised if the game was scheduled, highlighting forcefully that anyone could simply ask him. It is important to note that a game can be very far from completion and however release punctually, or almost complete and still suffer a delay. The degree of completeness of a game says little about its release date, as well as a solid date does not say anything about the remaining work. Considering the lack of official information on the coverage of GTA 6, after confirming the pre-orders of June 25, fans are again looking for elements to feed the wait. Rockstar Games continues to provide very little information about the upcoming game and silence feeds the question for any update, concrete or not. A number associated with an authoritative source is perfect for this purpose. This is internal information, suitable for a newspaper title and offers a data to discuss. However, it is often only hyperbole around GTA 6 and a lot of empty talk. We are in this same situation of lack of information, just when misunderstandings spread faster. Actually, Schreier's reporting is reasonably encouraging. In addition, it aligns with concrete evidence. Take-Two Interactive confirmed the date of 19 November in financial documents, pre-orders have been active since last June and the issues and prices have been set in all regions. One month has passed since his 90% statement. When developing a video game, four weeks at the apex of a project are a long time. Ultimately, nobody outside Rockstar knows how full the game is. The only source of more detailed information will be when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick talks to shareholders in August.
