Rockstar confirms: single player in the center of GTA 6 – focus on story and narrative

It is confirmed: Grand Theft Auto VI will have a central single player mode, as from the tradition of the series. The first official statements by Tarek Hamad and Scott Butchard, interviewed by GQ to discuss the Cayo Perico Heist expansion of GTA Online, reassure fans about the priority given to the narrative and narrative experience of the game. Despite the success of GTA Online, Rockstar Games reaffirms the importance of single player in GTA 6, recognizing that the extraordinary success of GTA V was largely due to this element. As Butchard points out, “I think that you can see that we point on the single player element already with GTA Online, and I think that going forward we will introduce more than that element there.” The interview did not reveal crucial details such as geographical and historical ambientation (although some clues suggest a return to Vice City), nor the date of the game. However, these first official statements represent an important confirmation for fans eagerly awaiting the sixth chapter of the saga. Despite the uncertainty about game specifications, Rockstar Games is already integrating single player elements into GTA Online, anticipating a future in which the two game modes will be increasingly interconnected. As often happens, it remains to be seen what the future holds in this chapter of the series, but the confirmation of the focus on narration and the single player experience seems a positive signal for players. What do you think?
