Rating ESRB of GTA 6: New Details of the Mature Content

Rockstar Games confirmed the ESRB rating of GTA 6, revealing more details about the mature content of the game. However, according to Australian and New Zealand ratings, Grand Theft Auto VI may present a more mature content than GTA 5. The confirmation of GTA 6's ESRB rating (Mature 17+) indicates that the publisher has actually updated its promotional material with the title indication and its rating. Here are all the content listed in the ESRB rating: - Blood and Gore - Intense violence - Mature Umorism - Nudity - Offensive language - Express Sexual Content - Use of Droghe and Alcol If at the view of this list you think “Yes, it looks like a Grand Theft Auto game”, I don’t blame you. In fact, all that is included in the mature rating is what we expect from the franchise. Actually, GTA 5 has the same list of ESRB descriptors. Despite this, seeing the ESRB rating of GTA 6 is exciting, as it finally confirms the expected launch date for November 19 and the Leonida character that we can control. ESRB ratings are not usually completed unless a game is close to publication. However, ESRB is not the only classification on the PlayStation Store pages of Grand Theft Auto VI in Australia and New Zealand, which also includes a notice on the content that has attracted fans’ attention. The Australian and New Zealand rating of GTA 6 now includes the R18+ wording and specifically mentions "sexual scenes". The age restriction itself is not unexpected, but this formulation has aroused discussions about the mature content of the game. Unlike GTA 5, whose Australian rating lists “sexual scenes” in its content council instead of explicitly stating “sexual scenes”, this difference led some fans to speculate that Grand Theft Auto VI could present more explicit sequences or narrative moments. However, GTA 5 was originally ranked in 2013, so the difference could simply reflect the way content alerts are drafted today. After all, Grand Theft Auto V has already presented scenes depicting sexual activity. The only formulation does not confirm that GTA 6 will be more explicit. For now, the charts give us a clearer idea of what we can expect, without revealing exactly how those scenes will take place. Yes, a mature rating for GTA 6 was probably the least amazing news imaginable. But with the 19th of November getting closer, these small updates also make the minucious wait to finally jump inside with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
