Take-Two Interactive, the next company to release the biggest game in recent years, has just informed investors that the next few months will generate lower revenue than the same period of the previous year. The company previewed a turnover between 1,62 and 1,67 billion dollars for the next trimester, in decrease regarding the 1,96 billion dollars obtained a year before, just before the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, and in the same event in which it had doubled its initial estimates. At first glance, this is a contradictory result. Why are Rockstar Games owners adopting this strategy before the biggest Grand Theft Auto ever? The answer is simple: the moment of the launch of the game was simply misplaced within the company's financial cycle. Take-Two operates in quarters, and November falls in the quarter from October to December. This means that the trimester for which the company has released the forecast is for the months of July to September, ending a few weeks before the release of the game. As a result, you expect a period of relative calm before the "perfect storm", while the digital codes are still sealed, unsold and waiting to be used. The fact that Take-Two predicts only a slight decrease in profits, without considering the hundreds of millions of dollars already generated by the preorders of GTA 6, testifies the strength of its current catalog titles. Here is a summary of Take-Two's financial performance in relation to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI: *NBA 2K27 The next Take-Two basketball game, scheduled for September 4, should provide a significant boost to revenue, considering that NBA 2K games are traditionally a reliable source of income for the company. Currently, the series has an increase of approximately 7%, with over 12 million units sold this year. *Grand Theft Auto Online: The online game continues to generate stable revenue for over ten years, supported by the continuous success of Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2 and other more dated titles. Mobile:* Take-Two’s mobile activity fell by 7% in the previous quarter, partly due to the exceptional success of Color Block Jam last year, which inflated numbers. The other mobile games of the company remain stable. Despite these challenges, the annual perspective of Take-Two remains unchanged, with an objective of $8.0 - $8.2 billion in net booking revenue. The company is focusing everything on GTA VI, despite the concerns for a slightly weak financial year, did not change its annual forecasts, accepting a reduction in Q2.
