GTA VI: 30 FPS Confirmation on PS5 – No Word on Mode 60 FPS

By GTA6 Hub editorial team

Rockstar has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI currently runs at 30 frames per second (FPS) on PlayStation 5. The news, released by development manager Rob Nelson, is not surprising who had intuited the technical choices of the game, considering the potential of the current gen hardware. Although the frame rate of 30 FPS was widely discussed, the lack of a definitive announcement on the possibility of a 60 FPS mode raised questions between fans and experts. Nelson stated that he is comparing with the team to evaluate this option, leaving open all eventualities: future patches, PC version or even a iteration for the next gen. The game, currently stable at about 30 FPS with occasional calis, operates at an internal resolution of 1440p on PlayStation 5, but it remains to be understood whether Rockstar intends to optimize the frame rate for a possible remastered on future consoles or if there are inherent technical limitations to the system. The issue of GTA VI's performance continues to fuel debates on the potential evolution of the game and its impact on the PlayStation 5 PRO game experience, a 900-Euro hardware that deserves proper performance treatment.
