GTA VI: Netflix unveils the extended preview of the game – Discover details
Rockstar announced that a special dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI – entitled “An Extended Look” – will be available on Netflix on August 27, 2026. For six hours, subscribers to the platform will have exclusive access to an insight into the game, well before the official release. The presentation, announced by Rockstar, represents a full preview of the already released trailers, and will debut initially on Netflix, then be available free of charge on YouTube and the official website of the game. The choice to spread promotional material through Netflix is unusual, offering early access to the material of one of the most anticipated games of the year. The special will arrive on Netflix at 21:00 on August 27, with the free publication on Rockstar channels scheduled about six hours later, at 03:00 on the Italian night. This means that those who want to avoid seeing the disassembled material in hundreds of clips on TikTok or X will have a simple solution: open Netflix. This is a preview, not a film about GTA VI or a documentary about production. “An Extended Look” will be an official presentation by Rockstar to show more closely the new chapter in the series. Despite the company has not yet published a detailed list, it is rumoured that the special will finally contain a true look at the gameplay: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval will be the protagonists of this presentation. So far we have seen the world of GTA VI, between beaches, marshes, highways, locals, parties and chases. But the most important phase is missing, the one in which the shooting will work, how interactive the world will be, how the police system will change, and how much you can enter the buildings. It will also be interesting to assess the differences in Jason and Lucia's control. It is unclear whether Rockstar will answer all these questions on August 27, but less than three months after the launch... La presenza di Lucia Caminos e Jason Duval come protagoniste mi convince poco; sembra una scelta mirata a “simpatiche” facce conosciute per attirare l'attenzione, e non necessariamente per evidenziare aspetti tecnici particolarmente complessi del gameplay. Ci aspettavamo un focus più incentrato sull’interazione con il mondo di gioco, e l’inserimento di due personaggi pur carismatici mi sembra quasi una trovata di superficie. Resta da vedere come si occuperanno di spiegare le meccaniche di combattimento, che è sicuramente l'aspetto più corposo a cui gli utenti sono interessati. La decisione di Rockstar di svelare questo materiale così in anticipo è un rischio calcolato, forse. È chiaro che vogliono gestire il rumore online e i possibili “leak” sui social media, offrendo un'alternativa controllata alla proliferazione di video brevi su TikTok o X. Ma mi chiedo se questo approccio non rischia di soffocare l'entusiasmo; a volte, un po’ di mistero fa parte del fascino di GTA. Il fatto che l'anteprima copra anche le differenze nel controllo tra Jason e Lucia è interessante: probabilmente Rockstar sta cercando di mettere in luce quanto il sistema di guida sia stato migliorato rispetto ai precedenti capitoli, enfatizzando la versatilità dei due protagonisti. Sarebbe incredibile se si rivelassero cambiamenti radicali nei controlli, ma anche piccole migliorie potrebbero fare una grande differenza nell'esperienza di gioco, soprattutto considerando l’enfasi sul driving e le scorciatoie stradali che abbiamo visto finora.
