Preordini GTA VI: The Ultimate Edition Makes Incredibly Pretty Well – And Shuts the Polemics on Prices

The controversy regarding the price of the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 did not discourage the enthusiasm of the players, as evidenced by the data of the preorders on the PlayStation Store. Many users focus directly on the most expensive edition at €99.99, reporting a continuous availability to spend on big AAA titles. According to Tweaktown, the Ultimate Edition is the most booked in nine international markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Japan. This result is significant considering that the Standard Edition also costs €79.99. The numbers confirm a tendency to increase prices in the AAA market, with editions from almost 100 euros that could become a reference point for the most anticipated productions. The decision of Rockstar and Take-Two to propose this premium edition has raised some criticisms in the community, particularly regarding the limited availability of content at Standard Edition. However, preorder numbers suggest that many players are willing to pay a supplement to get the full version. This phenomenon fits into a broader market trend, with premium editions and additional content that push towards higher average player spending. GTA 6 would not be the only title to succeed in this sense: the most expensive versions of Halo: Campaign Evolved and Wolverine are overcoming their standard editions in preorders, according to Tweaktown analysis. It remains to be seen whether this new threshold will become normal for the AAA market or if it will remain a feature of the most anticipated titles in view of the release of GTA 6 on 19 November 2026.
