GTA VI: The Collector’s Box of Vice City – An Excessive Price Without the Game

Rockstar Games launched the preorders of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a collection box available on the Rockstar Store at the price of $399.99 in the United States and £349.99 in the UK. The shipment is scheduled for November 19th, game release date on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The critical point concerns the absence of any digital content: the box does not include a physical disk, nor a download code for GTA VI, which will be sold separately. The collection, inspired by the fictional television series Macca the Gator set in the state of Leonida (a Florida reprocessing), includes 11 collector's items. Among these: a statuette of about 15 cm with openable compartment base, Oakley Frogskins black opaque glasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and pink logo, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame hat and a ripstop shoulder bag with personalized YKK zip. The rest of the collection consists of desk items: a magnetic mirror in pink glass, a shot glass dedicated to Chunkee the Manatee, a decorative spoon not suitable for contact with food, a keychain shaped with bevelled edges, nine enamelled pins in tin, nine stickers and a front-back poster showing the complete map of Leonida. Rockstar ranked the package as "a premium Collector's Box with all the essential to have fun", a formulation that many users interpreted as a provocation given the lack of the game itself. Comparison with the Collector's Edition of GTA V (built in 2013 about $149.99 and included the game, a steelbook, a map, a bag and a cap) highlights the increase in the price for this new item. The Special Edition also stopped at $79.99 (game included), while today those who want both versions have to spend almost $500. It is important to remember that even the physical copies of GTA 6 contain a disk, but only a code for the digital purchase of the game. Rockstar also announced the sale of a vinyl album at a price of about $125. Stocks are limited and the sold out appears likely.
