Michael Pachter Prevedes a 100 Dollars Launch Price for GTA VI on PC

The well-known analyst of Wedbush Securities, Michael Pachter, raised the issue of the launch price of Grand Theft Auto VI, fueling player concerns about a potentially high cost. According to Pachter, Rockstar Games could fix the basic price of the game to $100 or more, offering a substantial in-game bonus to boost purchase and push consumers to spend further on GTA Online. Pachter's analysis, expressed in a popular note this week, suggests that Rockstar could adopt a bold strategy to maximise profits, however risking creating discord in the video game industry. The analyst, alongside Mat Piscatella who initially defined the “ridiculous” hypothesis, speculated that management could offer a high amount of virtual currency to purchase the game to encourage players to play single-player and then spend on GTA Online. Despite the lack of official confirmation by Rockstar Games, which maintains a generic release schedule for autumn 2026, Pachter's intervention rekindled the debate on the price of GTA VI, pending further developments and a definitive announcement. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, with scheduled release date for November 19, 2026.
