Netflix and Grand Theft Auto VI: An Unexpected Global Preview Partnership

The union between Netflix and Rockstar Games seemed almost inevitable, and the premiere debut of the "Grand Theft Auto VI: A Long Preview" on the streaming platform confirms this forecast. The new special, which will show for the first time gameplay of the long-awaited title, will mark a significant investment by the giant of streaming in the video game industry. As officially announced by Rockstar Games, the preview, entitled "An Extended Look", will be available on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 21:00, and then released simultaneously on YouTube channels and on Rockstar's official website. An affront to those suffering from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), but a strategic move to maximize the visibility of the title. Netflix defined the collaboration "an unpublished partnership and the first of its kind" dedicated to presenting an in-depth look at the next evolution of the revolutionary Grand Theft Auto series. This is not an isolated event: the success of the GTA Trilogy within Netflix Games, despite its temporary exclusivity, has demonstrated the interest of the audience of streaming for the great intellectual videoludic properties, especially among PlayStation console fans. The plot of Grand Theft Auto VI is set to Vice City and the USA, with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as two robbers involved in a conspiracy that threatens the entire state of Leonida. The campaign will focus on a mastodontic single-player experience, without yet revealing about online multiplayer. The alliance between Netflix and Rockstar Games was not born from scratch. After recognizing the potential of video games, Netflix has stopped considering them as simple "smart Experiments," investing billions of dollars in development studies, cloud gaming integration and expanding titles on TV screens, consolidating itself as an important force in the industry.
