Grand Theft Auto VI continues to generate enthusiasm, even before its planned release on November 19, 2026. Take-Two Interactive confirmed the release date and, above all, revealed a crucial figure: the preorders of GTA 6 started with an unprecedented entity, largely exceeding the company’s internal expectations. The confirmation comes from the recent financial results of Take-Two, which paint an extremely positive picture for the most anticipated video game of the year. According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, the initial question for GTA 6 was defined as “without priors”, although the company chose not to disclose the exact numbers of preorders. The most interesting fact is the preorders. Take-Two reported that the audience's response after the opening of orders, which took place on June 25, was significantly higher than the internal forecasts. The company spoke of an exceptional start, while Zelnick used even more emphatic terms to describe the level of demand. Despite the enormous interest shown, Take-Two does not intend to publish at the moment the total number of preorders. The motivation is also linked to the difficulty of distinguishing between additional demand and purchases that would still be matured in the weeks after the launch. However, the signal remains extremely important: GTA 6 is attracting a huge amount of players already months before its release. Considering the historical weight of the series, this result could only represent the beginning. The exit date of 19 November does not change. Take-Two reiterated that he was on the road to respect the launch window announced by Rockstar Games. At the moment, therefore, there are no new renewals for GTA 6. This date is also a key event for Take-Two, which has built much of its financial expectations on the debut of the new Grand Theft Auto. For the current fiscal year the company continues to predict Net Bookings between 8 and 8.2 billion dollars, with GTA 6 destined to play a decisive role in achieving the goal. The commercial expectations are huge and the results obtained by GTA V, which exceeded 230 million copies sold worldwide, help explain the enthusiasm around the new chapter. The new episode will then have the task of collecting a prestigious legacy from this iconic title. The game is released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
