Preorders GTA VI: The Last Edition dominates the rankings despite the price
The Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto VI, sold at €99.99, leads the preorders on PlayStation Store, surpassing the Standard version in numerous charts. This preference of players for the deluxe edition, which includes rare cars, exclusive weapons and bonuses related to the city of Vice City, contrasts with controversy over the high price of the game. The 99.99 euro version confirms the most popular choice among preorders, while the Standard Edition is behind in many charts. The interest in additional content and bonuses related to Vice City seems to have exceeded concerns about the overall cost, confirming the wait for the launch of the new chapter of Rockstar Games. The preorders of the Ultimate Edition have silenced any price controversy, as evidenced by the data collected on different platforms and specialized sites. Non mi stupirei affatto se la presenza di contenuti specifici legati a Vice City – auto come il Vapid Stanier, i bonus legati alla città stessa e all’iconico stile dell’isola – avesse un peso maggiore del costo elevato. L'attesa per GTA VI è già tale che molti giocatori sono disposti a sacrificare una parte del budget per avere accesso immediato a questo ecosistema, soprattutto considerando la natura potenzialmente "collettiva" del gameplay e la possibilità di creare situazioni memorabili con altri utenti. Il dato dei nove mercati internazionali segnalato da Tweaktown (Stati Uniti, Canada, Regno Unito, Francia, Giappone…) conferma una tendenza già evidenziata in precedenza: un’attrazione per il contenuto aggiuntivo che sembra ignorare, almeno in parte, le preoccupazioni iniziali sul prezzo. La pressione esercitata dall'hype generato dal terzo trailer e l’imminente uscita del gioco sicuramente amplifica questo fenomeno. Vedremo se la Standard Edition potrà recuperare terreno, ma al momento l'Ultimate Edition sembra destinata a dominare il panorama dei preordini.
