Ex Animatore Rockstar Avverte: Rmessage GTA 6 Anchor Possible – One Year Only Before Launch
The long wait for Grand Theft Auto VI could reserve another little welcome surprise. According to Mike York, former Rockstar Games animator, the studio would not hesitate to postpone the game again if the main missions or some technical problems were not fully resolved near the launch. At the moment, however, there is no official announcement about a new postponement. GTA 6 remains scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, date confirmed by Rockstar Games and later reiterated by Take-Two Interactive. The words of York therefore represent a personal assessment based on his previous experience within the study. The former developer has clarified that he no longer works for Rockstar and does not possess confidential information about the current state of the project. Mike York explained that, during the final stages of such a great production, even a particularly important mission can become decisive. If in November a central part of the adventure does not reach the required quality level, or it still has numerous errors, Rockstar may choose to indulge in another month. According to the former animator, a possible postponement could reach up to six months, thus moving the publication of GTA 6 in the spring of 2027. York has stated that he would not be surprised at such a decision, especially considering the freedom Rockstar has thanks to the huge wait built around the game. The reasoning does not mean that a new reference has already been decided. York has used a hypothetical example to explain how the study could behave in front of a content not yet sufficiently finished. Rockstar has already proven to prefer a longer wait than publishing a product not up to expectations. In announcing the current date of 19 November 2026, the company had explained that additional months would be served precisely to complete the game with the qualitative level expected by the public. GTA 6 has already been postponed twice: the first announcement indicated generically 2025 without a precise date; later Rockstar had fixed the exit to 26 May 2026, before moving it definitively to 19 November 2026. The new location also allows Take-Two to publish GTA 6 during the period before Christmas holidays, traditionally very important for the sales of video games and consoles. Considerando la cronologia dei ritardi precedenti – il cambio di data dal 2025 al 26 maggio 2026 e poi al 19 novembre 2026 – è ragionevole ipotizzare che anche in questo caso Rockstar preferirà concedersi un ulteriore margine di tempo, probabilmente sfruttando gli aggiornamenti tecnici menzionati da NateTheHate. La strategia del silenzio sulla modalità online, come suggerisce l’articolo su Instant Gaming News, non fa altro che rafforzare questa sensazione: si tratta di un tentativo di controllare la narrazione attorno al gioco, di gestire le aspettative e, probabilmente, di ritoccare i dettagli finali prima di dare il via libera alla pubblicazione. E se prendo in considerazione il fatto che l’uscita è prevista a novembre, durante il periodo delle festività natalizie, sono convinto che anche questa scelta strategica sia legata all'obiettivo di massimizzare le vendite.
