GTA 6: Netflix will present the Exclusive Authentic Look
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive announced the creation of an “Extended Look” dedicated to Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for August 27. The preview will be available initially on Netflix and later on the official Rockstar channels. The presentation, lasting about six hours, will have an exclusive debut for Netflix subscribers at 20:00 Italian (CEST) on August 27, then be released on the official website of Grand Theft Auto and on YouTube Rockstar Games at 02:00 on August 28. Details on the duration or content of the film have not been provided at the moment. However, the Extended Look could be a crucial opportunity to show the game mechanics in a concrete way, after months of waiting and speculation powered by film trailers and ambientation. The collaboration with Netflix marks a further evolution of the relationship between the two companies, following the previous host of the “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” for mobile devices. As Brandon Riegg points out, vice president of Netflix’s non-fiction series: “The waiting and passion around Grand Theft Auto VI are unprecedented and we are honored that Rockstar Games chose to collaborate with us to preview Netflix members the next chapter in Grand Theft Auto history.” Considerando la durata prevista dell’Extended Look – sei ore come indicato da Netflix e Rockstar – mi convince poco l’idea di una semplice “demo giocabile”. Un simile lasso di tempo richiederebbe un’immersione profonda nel gameplay, probabilmente con sessioni dedicate a diverse aree della mappa di Grassrivers e Mount Kalaga. La natura "extended" suggerisce che verranno mostrate più meccaniche di gioco rispetto a un trailer standard, e la menzione di "meccaniche di gioco" da parte di Brandon Riegg rende tutto questo ancora più plausibile. Mi aspettavo qualcosa di simile a quello visto con Leonida, dove anche se l’anteprima era lunga, non si è vista una demo vera e propria ma solo una presentazione di gameplay già sviluppato. Sarebbe strano vedere solo scorci visivi senza un'interazione reale con il mondo di gioco; forse verranno mostrati i primi viaggi su Vapid Stanier lungo le coste di Ocean Beach o le interazioni tra i personaggi principali, Lucia Caminos e Raul Bautista, ma la vera domanda è se verranno mostrate anche le conseguenze delle azioni del giocatore.
