GTA VI: Not compatible with the 8th Generation Consoles – Here's What Serves

GTA VI will not be available for PS4 and Xbox One consoles, at least initially. The new Rockstar Games title, set in a renewed version of Vice City, requires the latest versions of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S or PC. The decision was officially communicated by Rockstar during the launch of the game scheduled for November 19, 2026 at the price of $79.99 for the Standard edition, which includes a download code instead of a physical disk. Rockstar's strategic choice aims to encourage users to switch to the latest-generation consoles or invest in PC, taking advantage of the game's waiting to push the hardware transition. The information on the size of the installed file has not yet been released, but it is estimated that the minimum requirement is similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2 (105GB), with particular attention to the Xbox Series S version, where the 512GB storage model offers about 364GB usable. It is recommended to check the updated prices of consoles at retailers before purchase. This passage is a key element in the GTA VI experience, which stands out for the introduction of new playable characters such as Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, protagonists in a vibrant and dangerous world set at Port Gellhorn, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga and Ocean Beach. The future of the game will be determined by the interest of players towards the new available platforms.
