GTA VI: Preorders from Record Superano 260 Millions of Dollars – Newzoo Analysis

Grand Theft Auto VI's preorders are breaking every record. According to a Newzoo analysis, the Rockstar Games title has already cashed around $ 260 million globally during the first week of the pre-order campaign, far exceeding initial estimates. The company specialised in video market analysis is based on digital spending between the United States and the five major European markets (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain) to reach this figure, estimating a total commitment of 180 million dollars in the last week of June. This figure, compared to the sales of Grand Theft Auto V, defines the campaign of preorders of GTA VI “the strongest ever recorded”. Based on these projections, Newzoo predicts that the game, belonging to the category of "proven sequel" (sequel to consolidated franchises), could generate $4.5 billion in the first seven days from the launch, equivalent to approximately 51 million copies sold. Even in a more prudent scenario, with an early distribution of orders, estimates still speak of $3.3 billion and 37 million distributed copies. Newzoo has denied the rumours previously circulated about a billion dollar overtake in the preorders, defining such “irrealistic” figures. The company emphasizes that most purchases are expected in the weeks after launch. Despite this, even in the most conservative scenario, GTA VI is destined to reach "extraordinary numbers according to any historical standard".
