Rockstar Posticipa GTA VI: Confirmed Date of 19 November 2026 and New Information on Ambientation

Rockstar Games reported further referral for the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, now set on November 19, 2026. The decision is motivated by the will to guarantee developers the time necessary to achieve the quality standards that distinguish the series and finalize the development of the title. The news follows a series of changes to the original roadmap: initially planned for 2025, then fixed on 26 May 2026 and finally on 19 November 2026. This additional period of development will have a significant impact on European and Spanish communities, which will have to wait a few months to immerse themselves in the action of Vice City. According to the company’s communication through its official channels, Rockstar apologizes for the extended wait, stressing that the additional months will allow to offer a finished and cutting-edge game, in line with the expectations of the players. The tone of the message remains the usual one: thanks to the community for patience and support. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while a PC version has not yet been officially confirmed, although Rockstar has let it mean a future release. History will take place in the state of Leonida, with Vice City as the protagonist, presenting Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval as the two protagonists within an open world that aims to consolidate the foundations of the series maintaining its identity. The development history indicates a 2013 completion for the main phase, followed by an announcement in 2022. Since then, the dates have been repeatedly modified and the new delay will allow to achieve the desired technical excellence. This postponement will also affect the programming of publishers and cinematographic houses, which will reschedule their outputs to avoid overlaps with GTA VI. In the European market, several companies are planning to move outputs before autumn or first quarter of 2027 to maximize exposure and sales.
