After the recent video inflaming social media, Rob Nelson's statements, co-director of Rockstar North, on GTA VI continue to stir. The producer clarified two themes at the centre of the debate in the video industry: the absence of microtransactions and the use of artificial intelligence. Rockstar has in fact reiterated its position, categorically declaring "no" to both practices. GTA 6 will not have microtransactions, a decision that surprises especially in light of the success of GTA Online and Shark Cards. Although Rockstar has not yet provided details about any future online game modes, this confirmation is a strong signal. The other statement, perhaps even more significant, concerns the use of generative AI in development. Rob Nelson confirmed that Rockstar did not use this technology, a strategic choice given the ambition of the project and the long years of development dedicated to GTA 6. Rockstar is therefore adopting a traditional approach, based on the skill of developers and artists to ensure the quality of environments, animations and characters. These statements arrive at a crucial moment, while the IA is at the centre of heated discussions in the sector. GTA 6, one of the most expensive and expected games in video game history, further emphasizes Rockstar's commitment to quality and traditional gaming experience. The decision to avoid these new generic technologies makes us hope for a title that aims to offer a deep and immersive gaming experience, without compromise.
