Gamescom 2026: Rockstar Directors Bet on Volume of Content to Overcome the Reveal of GTA VI on Netflix

Gamescom directors, in view of the competition with the debut of Grand Theft Auto VI on Netflix on August 27, believe that the digital event is not threatened, but represents a crucial point of reference for the entire video industry. Stefan Heikhaus, brand director of Gamescom, said that the overlay with the Rockstar showcase is not a problem, but an opportunity to demonstrate the huge volume of content offered during the fair. Heikhaus points out that events such as Gamescom allow you to present “migliaia, or at least hundreds” of games, unlike a single title such as GTA VI that could subtract attention. However, it provides that visitors will quickly return to the fair after seeing the content of GTA 6 on Netflix, given the vastness of world premieres and news to discover. Also, it notes that most gamers show interest in several major titles at the same time, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Gears of War: E-Day, Metro 2039 and Fable. An additional critical factor is the emergency of leak. Cyberleek has already released on the internet at least 10 unpublished gameplay videos, including scenes of Jason Duval driving between Leonida Keys, a meeting with a NPC in a service station showing Lucia Caminos and another Jason clip flying an airplane over Vice City at night.
