Rockstar opts for a silent strategy: GTA VI preview on Netflix

The launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, set for November 19, 2026, differs from the usual marketing tactics of the industry. Unlike movies or music, where approaching the date of release is accompanied by an avalanche of trailers and advertisements, Rockstar Games is adopting a more discreet and reserved approach. As often happens with video game outputs, you expect a strong media pressure, with gameplay sequences, film movies and insights that aim to assess whether the product is our case. However, for GTA VI it seems to have been chosen a different strategy: the extended preview of the game will be available exclusively on Netflix, before the official release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. The decision, already under discussion on social media and online forums, raises questions about the future of marketing in the video game industry. Some fans express concern, others consider the initiative as a clever strategic move by Rockstar to create "hype" and generate interest around the game. The company has announced a partnership with Netflix, whose appointment is scheduled for August 27. It is expected that the third trailer of GTA VI or DeepDive will be shown on Netflix. A preorder of the title will be available from the Italian midnight of June 25.
