Rockstar, Netflix and the 80-100 Million Dollar for GTA VI's Extended Look

In this article we analyze the economic estimates of the agreement between Rockstar Games and Netflix for the exclusive presentation of the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto VI. According to the insider Tom Henderson, this temporary initiative has already yielded to Rockstar and Take-Two a sum between 80 million and over 100 million dollars, i.e. between 74 and 92 million euros approximately. The value comes from the Extended Look, the insight into the game that will debut on August 27, 2026 on Netflix, and then arrive a few hours later on the other channels. Henderson estimates that the transaction may have already generated revenues comparable to the sale of over a million copies of the game, at an approximate price of approximately 74 euros. However, the insider does not exclude that the total compensation may exceed 100 million. The choice to release the Extended Look on Netflix, instead of directly on the Rockstar channels, has aroused conflicting reactions among fans. Many express some dissatisfaction with the need to access the video through streaming, but this strategy is part of a wider marketing operation aimed at transforming every communication on the game into a global media event. Take-Two Interactive, led by CEO Strauss Zelnick, has maintained a prudent approach to data, only confirming the ability of GTA 6 to generate large-scale attention and sales before the official launch. The economic esteem of the Extended Look, although it is not a definitive figure, testifies to the enormous potential of the new Rockstar title.
