Classification ESRB of GTA VI: violence and nudity confirmed, but without microtransactions to launch

Grand Theft Auto VI obtained the official classification from the ESRB. As predictable for the series, the game received the rating "M for Mature" (17+ in the United States) and the PEGI 18 rating for Europe. The classification agency has highlighted among the contents "blood and mutilation, intense violence, mature humour, nudity, strong language, sexually explicit content and use of drugs and alcohol", consistent with the franchise standards. The classification has rekindled speculations on narrative, in particular regarding the evolution of the relationship between the two protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and the activities available in the open world of Leonida. The ESRB also mentions the presence of “in-game purchases”, probably referring to the digital upgrade to the Ultimate Edition to access additional missions and aesthetic content. However, the eventual arrival of future DLC is not excluded. The announcement of the classification seems to contradict some rumors of the past years, according to which the game would moderate the politically incorrect content. The vast presence of humor for adults, nudity and violence suggests that Rockstar Games did not intend to limit itself to this new chapter. Grand Theft Auto VI will debut on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
