Booking GTA VI: PS5 Dominia on Xbox – Here’s What They Say to Microsoft

According to internal sources in Microsoft, Grand Theft Auto VI's reservations would be significantly higher on PlayStation 5 than Xbox, a situation that is making Redmond's home gaming division even more complex. "Internal Xbox sources tell me that Grand Theft Auto VI preorders are heavily unbalanced towards PS5, triggering additional alarm bells for the platform," said journalist Tom Warren. "Revenues from Xbox hardware have declined for three consecutive years and the RAM crisis is increasing the prices of Xbox Series X consoles. It is becoming increasingly difficult to predict what this will mean for Project Helix, the next generation console of Microsoft. " Considering the scope of the new chapter of the Rockstar Games series, a disadvantaged situation in terms of bookings would certainly not be a help in the perspective of the revival of Xbox wanted by CEO Asha Sharma. Already last June we had talked about bookings significantly higher on PS5 than Xbox for GTA 6: on that occasion Microsoft had minimized talking about record preorder, but the fact that those rumors have resumed to circulate must indicate something. The fact that preorders were made in great prevalence on PS5 probably not surprising, considering the large installed base of the Sony console and marketing agreements with Rockstar Games that led to the realization of a limited edition DualSense and a strongly oriented communication to PlayStation.
