GTA 6 on PS5 Pro: No 60 FPS Guarantee Confirmed

On September 6, 2026, GTA 6 does not have a 60 FPS mode confirmed on PS5 Pro. Sony officially indicates Grand Theft Auto VI as PS5 Pro Optimized, while the build shown during a visit to Rockstar North was described at 30 FPS. The crucial point is that these two data are not contradicted: PS5 Pro optimization is confirmed, but Rockstar has not yet announced resolution, frame rate and final graphics. The issue became central after the August 27 Extended Look and the creator reports they could see the game more closely. For those who are evaluating the purchase of a PS5 Pro especially in view of GTA 6, the useful answer is therefore simple: it is not necessary to buy the console giving for discount the 60 FPS. At the moment that mode was not promised. GTA 6 turns to 30 FPS on console? The build shown during the visit to Rockstar North ran at 30 FPS. The clarification is important because it is not yet a final technical sheet published by Rockstar for the launch of November 19. The figure comes from the account of Davy Jones and Flow Games, after the meeting with Rob Nelson, responsible for the development and co-director of Rockstar North. The build view in the studio worked at 30 frames per second and, to the question on a possible 60 FPS mode, there was no definitive confirmation. This means that the 30 FPS describe the status of the version shown, while they do not show by themselves that the final game will be mandatoryly blocked at 30 FPS in each mode. Similarly, there is no official basis today to present the 60 FPS as a certain feature. GTA 6 on PS5 Pro is confirmed as Enhanced There is no doubt about this. The official GTA 6 PlayStation page shows the PS5 Pro Enhanced label, while PlayStation Store shows it as Optimized for PS5 Pro. The label does not specify which improvement will be applied. Sony and Rockstar have not yet published a table with Quality, Performance, Target resolutions or frame rate. Therefore, we do not know whether PS5 Pro will focus on image quality, ray tracing, stability, image reconstruction or higher frequency mode. PS5 Pro guarantees the 60 FPS of GTA 6? No. The fact that a game is optimized for PS5 Pro is not automatically equivalent to the presence of a 60 FPS mode. Each title can use the greater power of the console differently, and GTA 6 must manage a very dense open world, traffic, NPC, physics, ambient streaming and numerous systems simultaneously. The technical analysis published after the Extended Look discussed above all the possible limit of the CPU when trying to double the frame rate from 30 to 60 FPS. It is a plausible technical hypothesis, not an official specification communicated by Rockstar. Reduce resolution or use reconstruction techniques can lighten the load on GPU, but does not automatically delete VERDETTO: MISTO La situazione con il frame rate di GTA 6 su PS5 Pro è chiaramente ambigua.
