Take-Two: The Netflix Presentation is Just the Beginning of the GTA VI Campaign

As we reported, Rockstar Games opted for Netflix as a showcase for the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto VI. A choice that has created discussions in the community, especially for the granting of a streaming platform of an exclusive six-hour time, anticipating the release of the video even on traditional channels. However, this presentation on Netflix could only be the beginning of a much broader strategy. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive. Interviewed by GamesIndustry.biz, Zelnick highlighted that the presentation of GTA 6 on Netflix will not be the last event before the launch of the game. It's about the appetizer. The question addressed to Zelnick was precisely the strategy adopted by Rockstar to accompany GTA 6 towards release. Take-Two CEO's response was crucial: the Netflix presentation is only one "port" planned by the company, indicating that Rockstar has further communication moments dedicated to the game. Details have not yet been announced on the calendar or how to submit these additional content. It is therefore not possible to quantify at the moment the number of trailers, gameplay or insights previewed before the launch. On August 27th it will not represent the culminating point of the promotional campaign. At the same time, Take-Two has communicated an opportunity to save on the preorder of GTA VI: the early purchase of the PlayStation Store and Xbox Gift Cards discounted on Gaming allows you to get credit to use on the store of your console, ensuring immediate savings at the time of launch. The choice of Netflix for the first transmission of GTA 6 gameplay aroused curiosity. The video will initially be available on the streaming platform and released only after six hours, guaranteeing Netflix an exclusive time window. An unusual strategy for a GTA VI size game, which might have led Take-Two to explore new ways of communication.
