For about a day, a lot of the Internet was convinced of Rockstar Games' plans for Grand Theft Auto VI in collaboration with Netflix were not only one, but even three pilot episodes to see as a TV series. Unfortunately, the leakage of news began to vent as soon as people began to carefully analyze the screenshot. Before we go further, here's what the next Grand Theft Auto reserves for us: Rockstar is about to make a first Netflix viewing on August 27 with "Grand Theft Auto VI: An External Preview." As expected, none outside the company knows the duration or structure of this content, and, not surprisingly, people immediately began to invent things, including a screenshot published on the subreddit of GTA 6, which showed the Portuguese Netflix page with the preview listed as three separate episodes of 23, 24 and 18 minutes. The list disappeared almost immediately and several people thought this would prove that someone on Netflix had made a mistake. However, as we have already mentioned, the leak of news does not hold the analysis. On a real Netflix page, the Episode section is located above that of the Further Details. In the screenshot in circulation, instead, it is below, flipped. Someone managed to recreate a more accurate version using browser developers tools, an integrated feature that allows anyone to rewrite the appearance of a web page on the screen. In addition to this, the fact that such a big escape did not involve others and nobody else managed to capture the same Portuguese Netflix page while streaming raises serious doubts. Forget about the Netflix GTA 6 leak The reasons why we shouldn't believe the screenshot of the three episodes. This is the question: Rockstar and Netflix are cooperating, and this is not just because Rockstar tried to make money. We don't even know if Netflix paid for this marketing opportunity. What we know is that Rockstar has already been subjected to numerous leaks of news, in 2022 and 2023, especially regarding the second trailer. This is why Rockstar avoided trusting someone with the second trailer. So, to give Netflix this possibility, it means Rockstar trusts the streaming giant not to sniff his plans, and in fact Netflix has proven to be up to the trust placed in her. We remember that Netflix is such a protective company of unreleased content that even “Stranger Things”, one of its most important original productions and among the most viewed TV series in the world, does not suffer leaks of news like this. Netflix does not do leaks of news, especially by mistake, in Portuguese, on the page exactly what the whole world of video games is constantly monitoring. So why did the leak spread so much if it wasn't true? That's just how things go now. Rockstar reveals very little information to the public, so every regional page, every inconsistency in Netflix metadata and every screenshot made with the magnifying glass is treated as an information from the inside of the studio. Considerando il track record di Rockstar con le fughe di notizie (ricordo ancora l’inferno del secondo trailer nel 2022) e la loro cautela generale dopo quell'esperienza, è più probabile che questo sia un modo per tenere sotto controllo i flussi di informazioni, piuttosto che una vera pianificazione per una serie TV a episodi. La questione della pagina Netflix capovolta è il dettaglio chiave, ovviamente: qualcuno all’interno ha involontariamente creato la confusione e lo screenshot si è diffuso rapidamente, alimentato dalla solita isteria online. Il fatto che nessuno altro abbia avuto accesso alla stessa immagine mentre era in streaming solleva dubbi, ma forse è semplicemente una questione di tempismo - il screenshot ha preso piede prima che qualcuno potesse effettivamente visualizzarlo. E poi c’è la questione di Raul Bautista e Real Dimez... se anche loro hanno accesso all'anteprima, probabilmente abbiamo un'idea più chiara della struttura completa del gioco.
