Realistic Weather in GTA VI: Vice City Prepares for Unimaginable Tempeste

By GTA6 Hub editorial team

If you thought that in GTA 6 you would spend your days exclusively between beaches, palm trees and postcard sunsets, Rockstar Games has something completely different in store. The new title will have an advanced weather system, designed to reproduce the definitely less mild climate of Florida, with possible extreme atmospheric events. The confirmation comes from Game Informer, who has dedicated a cover story of 14 pages to GTA 6, made through interviews with several lead designers of Rockstar Games. To sign the article is Marcus Stewart, native to South Florida, who collaborated with developers to define these aspects. The system provides "advanced weather systems" capable of simulating atmospheric phenomena such as intense storms, tropical storms and even hurricanes – the specifications have not yet been confirmed, but the complexity of the project leaves significant consequences on the gameplay. It is hypothesized that weather could influence driving, visibility, NPC behaviors, the fauna present in the game environment, and even carrying out certain missions. The ambition of GTA 6 does not include only Vice City, but the immense imaginary state of Leonida, openly inspired by Florida. This choice prompted Rockstar to work on the aesthetic reconstruction of the places as well as on the natural characteristics of the area. Game Informer's cover story also deepens Rockstar's study on Miami and Florida to create a more culturally and aesthetically accurate and realistic virtual world than it has been achieved so far. The team focused on deepening details such as the surrounding environment, locals and characters that populate the game world. It remains to be seen how far Rockstar will push with this system: the ability to manage a biblical shower without interruption of the gameplay would be almost more surprising than the contrary.
