Milan, September 8, 2026 - The waiting for GTA VI is getting more and more intense, and with it grow questions about the direction Rockstar is taking. While the game promises a quality jump in terms of immersion and detail, some fans express concern: the excessive realism risks compromising fun? Rockstar seems to elevate GTA 6 to a new level, going beyond the simple expansion of Vice City. The world of the game will be characterized by concrete consequences for the actions of the players, just like daily life. Managing car supply – which will take about ten seconds – is just one of the most discussed aspects: an immersive detail or an annoying loom? Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos will also be influenced by lifestyle choices. Power, exercise and sleep will have a direct impact on their bodies and their performance. Excessive nutrition could alter the physical shape of the protagonists, while training will increase muscles and lack of sleep will affect their appearance. The weapons system was radically redesigned to align with the new level of detail of the game. Unlike the unlimited arsenals of GTA 5, Jason and Lucia can carry only a limited number of long weapons, which will be clearly visible. This will change the behavior of the NPCs: a rifle in hand could scare citizens and draw attention to the forces of order. As explained by Rob Nelson of Rockstar, this change is necessary to ensure a more credible virtual world and with more sophisticated characters. The central question of the debate concerns the balance between realism and fun. GTA has always based its success on the immediateness and freedom of players in turning the city into a gigantic criminal playground. The introduction of constraints such as resource management, the daily needs of Jason and Lucia, could make the game more challenging and less spontaneous. Rockstar seems to focus on this balance: small drawbacks that make Vice City more alive and engaging. But the risk is to overcome a subtle limit between credibility and complexity. The launch of the game is scheduled for November 19, and it will be interesting to see if Rockstar will find the right compromise between realism and fun.
