Netflix and Grand Theft Auto VI: The Partnership that Confirms the Trend of Streaming

The union between Netflix and Rockstar Games for the custom preview of Grand Theft Auto VI is a natural step, as highlighted by movieplayer.it. The streaming giant is investing more and more in the video game industry, a clear strategy: abandoning the idea of gaming as a simple "experiment", has partnered with key studies such as Annapurna Interactive and is focusing on cloud gaming and headlines directly for TV. The announcement of the special event, entitled Grand Theft Auto VI: A Long Preview, which will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 21:00, with a subsequent publication on YouTube channels and Rockstar website, marks an evolution in the relationship between the two companies. The collaboration, called "indited and of the first genre" by Netflix, is based on the experience consolidated with the GTA Trilogy within Netflix Games (now no longer available), demonstrating the interest of the public for the great videoludic IPs, especially among fans raised with PlayStation. The plot sees us involved in Vice City, USA, where the robber Raul Bautista and his companion Boobie Ike find themselves at the center of a conspiracy involving Leonida and Detective Brian Heder. The new special will focus on Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, two central figures of history. The experience will be exclusively single-player, without references to multiplayer or online components. The partnership between Netflix and Rockstar reflects the commitment of the streaming giant to a more and more future linked to the world of video games, with significant investments in development studies, cloud gaming integration and expansion on TV screens.
