Weather in GTA VI: new revelations from internal recordings

According to internal sources at Rockstar Games, the weather system of GTA VI will be extremely dynamic and detailed. The recordings extracted from development sessions show that the game will use an advanced weather engine based on real data from different geographic areas of Southern California. The recordings suggest that the weather will not only be limited to rain, sun or clouds, but will include more complex atmospheric phenomena such as sand storms, persistent marine nerves and even sudden micro-tempeste. Raul Bautista, a member of the development team involved in the implementation of the weather system, stated in a recording (translated by anonymous sources) that the goal was to "recreate the true unpredictability of the environment". It is expected that the weather will directly affect the missions and activities of the players. For example, a flying shower might make it more difficult to use some cars or perform certain outdoor actions. Dre’Quan Priest, another developer, added that “the integration of weather with gameplay is fundamental to increase realism and immersive experience.” At the moment, no specific information about how players can interact with the weather system (for example, if they can send weather requests). Details remain to be clarified about how influential the weather will be on the performance of the game.
