GTA 6 Exclusive from the Golden Joystick Awards 2026: Tempistica Costano il "Grand Slam"

GTA 6 is preparing to be one of the central titles of the video-gloss season, but the new Rockstar Games game will not be able to participate in the Golden Joystick Awards 2026. The reason lies in the release time: GTA 6 is scheduled for 19 November 2026, while the Golden Joystick Awards ceremony will be held on 11 November. Votes for the Game of the Year award will take place from 26 to 30 October, making it impossible for the public to assess the title before closing the votes. GTA 6 will not be able to participate in the "All-in", or point to what is considered one of the main "Grand Slam" of the Game of the Year Awards: Golden Joystick Awards, The Game Awards, DICE Awards, GDC Awards and BAFTA Game Awards. In recent years, this success was achieved by Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023 and by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in 2025. GTA 6 could recover the Golden Joystick Awards Award the following year, as already did The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim between 2011 and 2012. For Rockstar, GTA 6 would also be an opportunity to return to winning an important Game of the Year award after Grand Theft Auto V, winner in 2013 at the Golden Joystick Awards and the VGX Awards (his predecessors, The Game Awards). Meanwhile, the Golden Joystick Awards 2026 have already opened votes in other categories. The top nomination titles include 007 First Light and Big Walk, both in five categories. Their candidacy could help bring out these games for the next season of the prizes. Recently Rockstar Games officially announced the collector edition of GTA 6.
