GTA VI: Standard or Ultimate Edition? The Trick of the Revealed Price

The choice between the standard edition and the GTA VI Ultimate is less complicated than it looks. The question that you ask many to two months from the exit does not concern exclusive content, but the price. And the most useful answer comes from a detail of the lists that no one has connected to the bottom: the upgrade to the Ultimate costs exactly the difference between the two editions. On the main digital stores – PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Rockstar Store – Standard costs €79.99 and the Ultimate €99.99. The upgrade to the Ultimate is purchased separately at 20,00 €, i.e. the exact difference: starting from the Standard does not entail additional costs and leaves the choice open. The Vintage Vice City package is available for all those who purchase the standard edition before 19 November 2026, while the free month of GTA+ is reserved for digital purchases – an inciting incentive given the single-player nature of the game at launch. The physical version contains only a download code. There are no embroidery as it was thought: the official price on all digital channels remains unchanged, 79.99€ for Standard and 99.99€ for Ultimate. The only scaffolding is the price of the canned copy in physical stores (€81.99), a two euro embroidery applied by retail. The real trick lies in the Microsoft Store: there is a product called “Upgrade Ultimate Edition” which costs 20,00€ and requires the basic game. There is no penalty to postpone the decision. Those who leave the Standard can buy upgrade downstream, taking advantage of any promotions on the Standard itself or on the Full Price List, saving up to 15 euros compared to the direct purchase of the Ultimate edition.
