Preordini GTA VI: Estimated production costs at 2 billion Dollars - Shock Projections

Pre-order sales of GTA VI could cover estimated production costs of $2 billion by the date of release scheduled for 19 November 2026. According to Karl Kontus, senior vice president of Sensor Tower Video Game Insights, the game will recover this budget thanks to an unexpected concentration of preorders and current estimates that indicate 4.3 million copies sold for Xbox and PS5, with a turnover already of 421 million dollars. An impressive start was highlighted by Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, who defined sales "without prior and surprising" while not providing precise figures. Sensor Tower, through its monitoring tools, estimates 25 million bookings instead of the initial 40 million planned due to an early release rate of preorders. Despite this, it is expected a peak in sales during the week prior to the launch of the game. The Ultimate Edition, offered at $100, is more popular than the $80 standard alternative, with 89% of buyers who chose the most expensive version, rich in bonus content. This success contributes to justifying the large investments of the study, especially considering that preliminary work began 12 years ago and the estimated development budget is around 1 to 1.5 billion dollars, excluding marketing expenses, which could exceed $2 billion, making GTA VI the most expensive enterprise ever realized in the field of video games.
