“Exciting and terrifying.” So the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, described the upcoming release of GTA VI. The debut of the highly anticipated new chapter is scheduled for November 19 with the consolidated signature of Rockstar Games. According to statements issued at Bloomberg News, Zelnick stressed that the high expectation surrounding the project makes the situation “terrifying”, considering its eight years of development and the huge investments required. GTA VI will present a story focused on a criminal duo set in an imaginary version of Miami. The series has already exceeded 225 million copies sold, positioning itself as the second best-selling title in gaming history, after Microsoft's Minecraft. The sales forecast for the launch day is estimated at 25 million units, reflecting the huge fan enthusiasm. Despite the initial debut will be limited to the consoles Ps5 and Xbox Series X|S (as confirmed by Zelnick, who explained the reasoned choice from the judgement that Rockstar receives from the “main nucleus”), a strong interest is expected also for the PC version. The estimates indicate that, at the launch of a large title, the PC market could represent up to 45-50% of sales, unlike the past (about 5% in 2007 for NBA 2K). Take-Two Interactive recorded in the third trimester a turnover of 1,76 billion dollars, exceeding the expectations of 10,69%, with an increase of net bookings of 25% and an increase of the recurring expenditure of consumers of 23%. Mobile business showed a growth of 19%. The company has reviewed the forecasts for the entire fiscal year in terms of net bookings, bringing them to 6,65-6,7 billion dollars (growth of 18%), and increased the forecasts on the operating cash flow to 450 million dollars. There are also net records for the fiscal year 2027, supported above all by subsequent releases, including GTA VI.
