Rockstar Announces GTA 6 official presentation on Netflix

Rockstar ha sempre mantenuto un controllo ferreo sulla propria IP, e lanciare un evento di questa portata direttamente su una piattaforma di streaming con una copertura globale come quella di Netflix sembra quasi una resa. È vero che si tratta di un'anteprima, e che il termine "extended look" suggerisce sequenze di gameplay, ma l’idea di rendere disponibile un kolossal come GTA VI in diretta streaming, senza il filtro delle tradizionali conferenze stampa o dei trailer a tempo limitato, mi fa pensare a una strategia di marketing decisamente audace – o forse, un po' disperata. Il fatto che Rockstar abbia aperto i preordini in concomitanza con l’annuncio suggerisce una volontà di mitigare la potenziale reazione negativa all’improvviso cambio di strategia. E Duval ha ragione, il ritardo di sei mesi è plausibile: il team deve avere bisogno di tempo per pulire tutto il codice, ottimizzare le performance e perfezionare quel gameplay che ci aspettiamo da un titolo Rockstar.
