Rockstar points on single-player: no mention to GTA Online for GTA 6

Rockstar Games announced that in the coming days will be available the first in-depth details on Grand Theft Auto VI, after about a year of waiting. Despite the enthusiasm around the title, the first information suggests a clear priority on single-player. According to rumors reported by journalist Jason Schreier, Rockstar is not yet ready to publicly discuss the online component of the game. The company’s primary goal is to promote GTA 6 as an immersive narrative experience, focusing on history, the world of play and the main characters – Lucia Caminos, Jason Duval, Cal Hampton, Raul Bautista – rather than the future development of GTA Online. This choice refers to the huge success of GTA 5, where the online component contributed significantly to revenues. Rockstar seems to maintain a clear distinction between the two experiences, leaving the history mode free from microtransactions and recurring spending systems. Schreier also suggests that Take-Two could develop GTA Online as a separate product, with a distinct promotional campaign and a focus on content designed for the long-term evolution of the game. The new project includes new locations such as Ocean Beach, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and Vapid Stanier. The presence of Dre'Quan Priest, Boobie Ike, Real Dimez and Brian Heder were confirmed but not detailed.
