Rockstar bets on $400 for the Collector’s Edition of GTA VI: a box full of useless “things”

No Game, Only Stuff: Rockstar reiterated that GTA VI will not be available in a physical version for consoles. However, the company is aware of the desire to "touch" gaming objects and is investing hundreds of dollars in totally useless toys and collectibles. Recently, Rockstar has announced a collector’s edition focused on Grand Theft Auto VI, the long-awaited blockbuster that has made Netflix collapse and that, almost certainly, will generate billions of profits in the coming years. The “Goodtime State” – Vice City Collection is a premium package, although completely free of value, with some potentially questionable elements inspired by the TV series preferred by Leonida, Macca the Gator. The limited-edition collector’s box is already available for pre-order at $400, and Rockstar stated that orders will remain open until stocks last, which means that the box could soon become an object sought by scalpers and GTA fans. Leonida is the fictitious state inspired by Florida in which the criminal adventure of GTA VI takes place, while Macca is the pink mascot to which everyone is talking there. GTA VI’s Collector’s Edition includes a 6-inch figure of the above-mentioned anthropomorphic crocodile, opaque black sunglasses, a snapback hat with the theme Leonida, a pin set, a bag, a poster and all that is among other things. The box also includes three elements that suggest a rather questionable use: a bathroom mirror with gator Macca il Gator, a spoon from Vice City Swizzle and a keychain Vice City Razor Blade. These “games” would be perfect to prepare a particular substance that GTA fans and gangster movies should know pretty well, although we doubt that Tony Montana would ever use a pink crocodile to prepare his daily dose of beautiful life. Despite the high price, Rockstar confirms that the GTA VI Collector’s Edition will not include the game itself. The box is clearly designed to satisfy long-time fans of the Grand Theft Auto series, or even late-comers interested in "posing" a tangible piece of GTA VI memorabilia, at a time when large companies are working hard to transform digital games into limited licenses that can revoke when they want. Until now, and before the successful operation of GTA VI, Rockstar had always released GTA mainline games in full physical version on all available platforms. Now, the Take-Two subsidiary is asking fans to stay tuned while GTA theme gadgets and clothing are available more through the company’s official store.
