Lucia Caminos: Rockstar's goal is to replicate the success of Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic

About a month after the launch, the GTA VI promotional machine has now entered the live and Rockstar Games seems to be intent on pushing the title with an unprecedented campaign. Among the initiatives that emerged in recent weeks there would also be an important promotional operation linked to Miami, a city that should be symbolically transformed into Vice City in view of the game’s release. Among the most curious ideas is to rename, for a single NBA game, the Miami Heat in Vice City Heat. Rockstar’s ambition, however, is not just about marketing. The new chapter should also focus on the depth of the game world, with more than 170 animal species, a dynamic weather system and an open world structure designed to be constantly alive and rich in activities. To capture the attention, this time, is above all Lucia, one of the two main protagonists of GTA VI and, apparently, destined to play a central role in the narrative. Lucia designed to leave the mark as Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic In a new study published by Love Magazine, the screenwriter Alexa D’Agostino explained that she wrote Lucia with the aim of making her a memorable character, capable of imposing herself in the imagination of the players at the same level as two of the most beloved figures in the history of Rockstar: Arthur Morgan, protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2, and Niko Bellic, main face of GTA 4. Augustine told her that she was also inspired by her mother during the construction of the character, trying to transfer to Lucia recognizable features in strong and determined women of the real world. The goal, however, would not be to create a perfect protagonist. On the contrary, the screenwriter stressed the desire to make Lucia imperfect, contradictory and, in some cases, deliberately linked to certain cliches. A choice designed to give her greater humanity and make her feel like a complete person, rather than just an idealized heroin. According to D’Agostino, this complexity should allow Lucia to “make the comparison” with characters like Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic. The statements are inserted in a narrative direction already suggested by Rockstar, who would express the intention to ensure that both protagonists of GTA VI succeed in eliciting emotional involvement comparable to that obtained with Arthur Morgan. The information that has emerged so far also describes a particularly ambitious title on the content front. GTA VI should propose a constantly active open world, numerous secondary activities and more explicit content than previous chapters. Elements that seem to strengthen Rockstar's will to transform GTA VI not only into one of the most important video games of his generation, but into a real cultural phenomenon.
