Preorders GTA VI: Take-Two Announcement Numbers “Without Precedents” – Uagna

The wait for GTA VI continues to generate remarkable numbers. According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the preorders of the new chapter of the Rockstar Games saga have already reached unprecedented levels, making it difficult to predict their impact on sales at the time of launch. Interviewed by Variety, Zelnick defined the interest shown as exceptional, while underlining the company’s caution. The manager explained that these high volumes still do not allow to establish with certainty the final number of copies sold to the public once available the title. Among the factors that contributed to this strong response of the public, the price strategy adopted by Rockstar Games stands out. In Europe, GTA VI will be proposed at €79.99 for the standard edition and €99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, consistent figures with those of the main triple A games. In the United States, the basic price of $79.99 represents an increase of approximately ten dollars compared to the most recent titles. Zelnick believes that Rockstar has correctly grasped the positioning of the different editions, offering the public the opportunity to choose according to their economic needs and the level of interest in the game. Preorder data is positive both in absolute terms and in the distribution of available editions. Take-Two now provides net bookings for $8.2 billion, compared to the previously estimated 8 billion, including sales through products, preorders and digital content.
