GTA VI: Map of Leonida and World Size – Here's What We Discovered

The map of the state of Leonida, an imaginary version of Florida, is at the center of attention. The heart of the game remains Vice City, a return for the first time from the classic Vice City 2002, but now part of an open world of continental dimensions, comparable to a whole state. The interactive map, developed by the community through State of Leonida – which counts over 1600 points of interest reconstructed by frames of trailers, screenshots of preorders and leaks – offers a detailed representation, although unofficial: borders, names and details could change before the exit. The community constantly updates it thanks to new content published by Rockstar. Rockstar has confirmed six distinct regions, ranging from cities and tourist islands to swamps, rural provinces and wild territories, ensuring a wide variety of settings. The size of the world is a complex matter: in an interview with the New York Times on August 27, 2026, Rob Nelson, head of the development of Rockstar North, indicated that the ambition is to exceed GTA 5 by extension, but with a more dense approach like Red Dead Redemption 2. He explained that the map of the game is based on satellite images, unlike the road patterns of the previous chapters. The gameplay seems centered on the vitality of the world: crowds on the beaches, social networks integrated in the game, wildlife (alligators, flamingos) and two protagonists – Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos – who interact with the environment, rather than teleport among the missions. The community is already struggling with the mystery of what this world conceals: the search for hidden objects and their organization are themes to explore deeper, as anticipated on the page dedicated to secrets and collectibles. The exit of 19 November 2026 is now imminent: it remains only to check how the state of Leonida is really alive, during a direct exploration of the map along with the community.
