Xbox Gets Exclusive Rights for GTA VI Streaming Cloud at Launch

Microsoft acquired exclusive rights for GTA VI's cloud streaming at the time of launch, scheduled for November 19, 2026. Thanks to Xbox Cloud Gaming, players can start the game on PC and other supported devices without the need to own a console. The Verge reports this information based on internal sources at Microsoft. Asha Sharma, head of Xbox, informed the employees that the company is preparing an exclusive streaming service for GTA 6, “without any other platform make it. ” Officially, Rockstar and Microsoft did not confirm the agreement. If the information was correct, at the launch GTA VI will be available exclusively through Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC and compatible devices, while the native version for Windows would not yet be announced. Rockstar set the release of the game only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. This move coincides with the changes planned for Xbox Cloud Gaming: from November, Ultimate Game Pass subscribers will have 15 hours of cloud gaming per month (with additional hours purchase options), Premium 10 hours and Essential 5 hours. Microsoft has not yet disclosed the cost of additional hours. In addition, The Verge suggests that Microsoft will open Xbox Cloud Gaming even to un subscribed users at Game Pass, offering paid gaming time packages. However, Matthew Ball, head of Xbox strategy, denied the news, stating that the deal is not exclusive and is limited to the GTA 6 streaming on Xbox consoles. When launching, then, streaming on PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming will not be available.
