Collection Edition Vice City Collection at 399.99$: Rockstar leaves out GTA 6 – What price?

Rockstar Games has launched the preorders of a Collector’s Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, released on 19 November 2026. The package, available in the United States at $399.99, focuses on the celebration of the setting of Vice City and Leonida, but does not include a copy of the video game itself, which must be purchased separately. The collection package offers eleven collector's items, including a statuette of Macca the Gator, a pair of Oakley Frogskins custom, a New Era hat, a bag inspired by Leonida Keys and several useful gadgets. A particularly coveted element is the front-back poster with the map of Leonida, intended to attract the most avid collectors. Rockstar's choice to sell these items aside triggered a heated debate within the community. The total cost, which exceeds 400 dollars, proves excessive for some players, especially considering the comparison with previous collector's editions of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. The timing of the GTA 6 release, scheduled for 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, aligns itself with the promotion of the Collector’s Edition, with visual elements such as the giant sign “Welcome to Vice City” appeared in Miami and the new Collector’s Box. The question that emerges is whether the 400 dollars for the dedicated edition are an excessive expense also for the long-awaited launch of GTA 6.
